Picking a Priest in World of Warcraft: Forever starts with a familiar question: do you want to heal, deal damage, or keep both options open Discipline, Holy, and Shadow give you room to experiment while working toward level 60. If you're budgeting for equipment alongside WoW Forever Gold, learn your spell milestones before spending heavily on upgrades. A new ability can change how you handle fights. These details describe beta plans, though, so don't treat every cooldown or talent choice as permanent.
The Levels That Change Your Toolkit
Level 20 brings Fear Ward and Devouring Plague to every Priest. That gives you more freedom to choose a race without losing access to either spell. Fear Ward stops the next Fear effect, but its shorter three-minute duration now matches its three-minute cooldown. You'll need to think about when to apply it. Devouring Plague deals Shadow damage over 24 seconds and heals you through that damage, with its cooldown reduced to one minute. At level 30, Divine Spirit becomes a standard Priest ability. Shadow Word: Death follows at level 32.
Choose Racial Abilities Around Your Playstyle
Racial spells still arrive at levels 10 and 20, and their differences matter. Undead keep Touch of Weakness, then gain Dark Sacrifice, which spends health for Mana over time. Spirit increases that Mana return. Trolls retain Hex of Weakness and Shadowguard, offering reduced enemy healing and damage against attackers. Gnomes get Confounding Flash for brief nearby crowd control. Their level 20 Contingency Plan lasts 30 seconds and activates below 35% health, providing absorption and healing over time. You can stack those effects with Renew and Power Word: Shield, but applying the ward doesn't immediately heal anyone.
Healing Tools Have Different Limits
Human Priests gain Divine Grace at level 10. It instantly heals an ally below 50% health and removes Weakened Soul, but you can't use it on yourself. Dwarves keep Desperate Prayer for personal healing and receive Chastise at level 20, immobilizing a Humanoid for two seconds. Night Elves get stronger Starshards damage with a 30-second cooldown. Their revised Elune's Grace reduces the chance of melee and ranged attacks hitting by 50%, ending after 15 seconds or three misses. Those restrictions matter when you're choosing a race for the situations you enjoy playing.
Build a Priest You Want to Keep Playing
The listed Discipline, Holy, and Shadow allocations are 16/0/5, 8/13/0, and 2/0/19. Treat them as beta starting points. Level 30 Shadow PvP footage alone won't establish a complete equipment plan or rotation. For an extra character, lower-level Legacy accomplishments offer another reason to keep progressing between sessions. If you're comparing cheap World of Warcraft Forever Gold while planning purchases, leave room for changing build needs. A Priest you enjoy at level 20 has plenty to work toward before reaching 60.
